Wow! What a day it has been. Pretty good day overall. Here is a bit of what went on. Yesterday a guy named Ian came to our house from the weatherization Dept. at Kitsap Community Resources to assess our house for energy efficiency. Well needless to say there were quite a few things that were quite inefficient. So he gave me a list of things that they could fix and told me he would go back to the office and plug in the numbers and see if we qualified to have the work done. He said he would get back to me in a day or two. Well before the end of the day the people for sealing the ducts called and scheduled to come out this morning first thing. They were done just before 11am. Well while they were here the people Ian said would service our furnace if all went well called and wanted to come out right away. They got here about 2. They were here all of about 10 min, when the guys says I have good and bad news. He knew immediately why our power bill has been so high, and said that we would need a new furnace. This one is on it's last legs and running at maxium but only able to put out minimum heat. He wasn't even sure he could get parts for it and if he did he couldn't guarantee it would make it run better and more efficient. So he called up Ian at KCR and long story short we will need to get a new furnace. He said the owner of the company would need to come out and look at it first and that it could be a couple of days. Well within the hour the owner was here and had good news. KCR was going to replace our furnace at no cost to us! How awesome, great, wonderful, incredible is that. Here I was thinking it would be at least a week or two before anything was going to take place and in a matter of a day we are seeing changes. By friday we will have a new furnace. I feel so truly blessed at this point. I can't say enough thanks to KCR, Dana heating and the people at Pj's home services. I will be making them all homemade thank you cards and am thinking of anything else I can do for them. There are other things they are doing to the house that should help a whole lot........but this one is major and I think will make the most difference. Can't imagine what it will be like to have the furnace putting out full capacity. Right now we are only getting maybe a quarter of capacity.
Sorry to bore you with another long post, but I am bouncing off the walls with thankfulness and excitement. Check back in another day or two and I will have some thank you cards posted. Maybe even a picture of two of Audrey....the real reason everyone visits my blog.
Happy Mother's Day!
